Suzanne & Martin

"Would we feel love again?" - Suzanne & Martin (2018)

Martin invites Suzanne, his ex-wife to his country-side home for a friendly game of tennis. What starts off as a swing of their rackets soon leads into a swing of their emotions. Dangerously re-kindling their past over a drink, leads to both, heartbreak and pain.

To me, the most important part in the creation of ‘Suzanne & Martin’ was to tell a story that was universal to anyone who had ever felt true pain from their ongoing struggles with closure and leaving past love behind.

‘Suzanne & Martin’ is a film about love that is doomed to fail. I didn’t want to explore the dynamics of a failing relationship, but instead the residual emotions, left after a separation that can lead to far more painful places.
